Time may be the most significant thing in the world to me. I’m obsessed with the time I have in my life. Always looking back or thinking about the future. The romance of what I could do with more time mixed with the forlorn understanding that I’ll only ever have so much. It all makes for a unique emotion to process as we live out our existence. It is the gravity of that concept that is imbued in how I see a single moment in time. An instant. A frame. A photo.
My photographs are the product of this obsession with time. I let the composition of every single image I capture guide me to a particular place in time, visually recreating what that period looks like in colors, shadows, and light. Each of my photographs has a sense of “their” time. A moment that particular frame owns. And it’s that philosophy that directs me visually – no one owns time, but we all own moments.
